GB Marketing Director
Zoe joined Coca-Cola Great Britain in 1998 and has taken on various marketing roles across a number of different brands spanning her years at the Company. She currently oversees the delivery of marketing plans in GB as Marketing Director and is responsible for brands including Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Powerade, Fanta, Sprite, Dr Pepper and Oasis. Zoe also spent time in the marketing capabilities team which saw her develop training and development programmes for leadership roles of the future. Prior to joining Coca-Cola, Zoe worked at P&G in various brand manager roles.
Our Secret Marketer is the Marketing Director of a major global brand, whose services touch 99% of the population every day. In the past, they have worked with a broad range of household brands across the B2C and B2B sectors, ranging from Financial Services to Retail (with a few in between). Whilst our Secret Marketer likes to see themselves as modern and "with it", they believe the email generation is destroying what is great about Marketing, and is outspoken on issues where Marketing is not given the respect it deserves in the Board Room.
Vice President for Brand Strategy and Marketing Creation
A communications pioneer and technology futurist, Steven has collaborated on award-winning projects across a range of media, from Hollywood filmmaking to Wired Magazine, from interactive media to global advertising. He has created interactive brand experiences and corporate transformation programs for a diverse array of leading companies including UPS, HP, Amgen, Microsoft and Ericsson. As the head of strategy for IPG Team Nokia, a coalition of global creative agencies, Steven was instrumental in launching the Nokia Nseries range of advanced multimedia mobiles across every marketing communications channel. In 2009, Steven co-founded The Realtime Project, a company that helps organizations take advantage of the opportunities in emerging realtime business models. A frequent public speaker and panelist on future trends in culture and business, Steven joined Nokia in early 2010. He lives in London.
Mark Ritson has a First class honours degree in Marketing and a Ph.D. in Marketing from Lancaster University. He has been a faculty member at some of the world's leading business schools including London Business School, MIT Sloan, the University of Minnesota and at Melbourne Business School - where he has been an Associate Professor of Marketing since 2005. He is an acclaimed MBA instructor having won the teaching prize at all his past schools: LBS (2002), MBS (2008, 2009, 2010), MIT Sloan (2009).
Mark has also worked extensively as a consultant for some of the largest brands in the world. His clients have included McKinsey, adidas, PepsiCo, Eli Lilly, Honda, Amgen, De Beers, Baxter, Ericsson and WD40. For ten years he has also served as advisor and in-house professor for LVMH - the world's largest luxury group - working with senior executives from brands like Louis Vuitton, Dom Perignon, Fendi, Tag Heuer, Dior and Hennessy.
Mark has been writing a weekly column on branding for ten years, first at Marketing and now Marketing Week. In 2009 he won Columnist of the Year in the PPA British press awards and his more scholarly publications include articles in Sloan Management Review, Harvard Business Review, and the Journal of Consumer Research. In 2001 Mark's research on pricing was cited in the acceptance speech of the winner of the Nobel Prize for Economics. He lives somewhere between London, Melbourne and Tasmania.
Global Innovation Director
Syl Saller is the Global Innovation Director for Diageo, the world’s leading premium drinks business. She is responsible for all new product development and launch programmes as well as R&D worldwide. Syl also runs the Global Design as well as Diageo’s licensing business. Prior to this, Syl was Marketing Director for Diageo GB, heading up a team of 140 people including Consumer and Commercial Marketing; Planning and the Reserve Brands Group. Before joining Diageo, Syl was Marketing Development Director for Allied Domecq Retail’s 3500 pubs. She is a non exec director for Dominos plc and has an MBA from the Harvard Business School. Syl is married and has two children.
Managing Director - Costa Enterprises
Jim Slater, Managing Director of Costa Enterprises, lifts the lid on Costa's obsession with customer focus, and how it aims to save the world from mediocre coffee.
Previously responsible for successful brands across many sectors, including FMCG, retail, premium spirits, telecoms, hospitality and even Premier League football, Jim is a graduate of Aston and Harvard Business Schools, and a Fellow of the Marketing Society.
European Marketing Communications
Chris joined Lexus' parent company in 1999 to run marketing across Europe and was responsible for many of the brand's key launch strategies before moving over to Lexus in 2005. Initially running all above-the-line marketing and advertising across Europe, Chris also took on digital a year ago and now ensures that all activity is completely integrated.
